Handbook - Concurrent Enrollment at Community (Junior) College page 11
Students in the MCHCS Home Independent Study Program may receive high school credit for courses taken at a community college. High school credit is computed by multiplying the number of college units by a factor of 3.3 to arrive at the number of high school credits. Not all community college courses satisfy graduation requirements. Students need to check with their resource teacher or MCHCS credit advisor to determine if the college courses
will fulfill specific graduation requirements or be counted towards elective credits.
Important Note
Students who are enrolled under a concurrent enrollment agreement are subject to the same attendance policies as all other college students. Please read the attendance policies carefully so that you are not dropped from a class.

Procedures for Enrolling at Community College for Concurrent Enrollment Credit
1. Take the entry exam that your local community college requires. Call the college to schedule an appointment. You may take physical education classes
on concurrent enrollment without taking the entry exam.
2.

Complete the Application for Admission found within the college catalog. Catalogs are available at the college, at MCHCS, or at any local library.

3. Complete the Concurrent Enrollment forms available through either the college or the MCHCS office. This form must be signed by the MCHCS coordinator prior to your registration.
4. Complete your registration card found in the college catalog.
5. Fees: Enrollment fees will be waived for concurrent enrollment students. However, the student activity fee will be charged to students for classes taken at the main campus. Students will also be responsible for purchasing
their own college textbooks.
